Community Mobilization Program

Funded by the New York State AIDS Institute, The Community Mobilization Program seeks to change attitudes and responses related to HIV/STI/HCV prevention through increased counselling, testing, and linkage to care; maximizing participation in health insurance programs; and PrEP/nPEP awareness and education in alignment with the goals of the NYS Ending the Epidemic Blueprint.

Moreover, the program addresses the HIV/STI/HCV epidemic in communities of African descent to improve overall health outcomes among MSMs, heterosexual women, Baby Boomers and persons living in high-risk communities.

This program is implemented by NBLCA affiliates in the following New York State cities and counties: Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse; Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Counseling, Testing & Referral

The Counseling, Testing, and Referral Program links Community-Based Organizations and Faith-Based Institutions to increase HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C (HCV), and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) education, awareness, testing, referral, and linkage to care among vulnerable populations who are least likely to get tested. NBLCA also offers a wide array of training and capacity-building on topics such as insurance navigation, policy, and advocacy to prevent health disparities and HIV stigma, and to promote health equity in marginalized communities.
